During the early history presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt & Harry S. Thurman refused to attend the National Prayer Breakfest events. They refused mostly because, during those years we had World War II. The first Thursday in February the National Prayer Breakfest week long event begin, but in truth the wheeling and dealing was all year long to obtain a seat at the table. The National Prayer Breakfast leader that organized the lobbist feast, was Mr. Doug Coe. His power was big because of his position in the Prayer Business and the many many years running the show.
